What's New For 2024?
This year, Hyundai has completely redesigned the Kona. The exterior has a more modern appearance, and the cabin features classier and more tech, giving it a newer and more refreshing look.
Performance
Propelling the new Hyundai Kona are two engine options. The SE and SEL models are powered by a 2.0-liter 147 horsepower four-cylinder matched with a continuously variable transmission. The N Line and Limited trims come with a turbocharged 1.6-liter 195 hp four-cylinder paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The EPA has rated the 2024 Kona with a high fuel economy. Front-wheel drive models get an estimated 29 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, but all-wheel vehicles with the turbo engine drop to 24 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.
Technology
As you step behind the driver's seat, you'll first notice the new dual 12.3-inch displays sandwiched behind one continuous piece of glass. The first monitor is a reconfigurable gauge display, while the second is a large touchscreen for the infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Additional features include a six-speaker audio system, an optional head-up display, and heated front seats.
Safety
All Kona models come with a suite of driver-assistance features. Some features like automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring come standard. But features like a driver-monitoring system, self-parking feature, or adaptive cruise control are optional or found in higher trims.
